What a beautiful little angel Kaitlin is. Her smile is priceless!! I will keep you and Kaitlin in my prayers. I came across your blog looking for a way to support my friend who's five year old son was just diagnosed with Battens just a couple of days ago. If you have any suggestions for me as to how to help and support my friend please let me know.

Liz, we are on facebook and there is a big group of people affected by Batten Disease on there from all over the world. We all get together and share our experiences and questions with one another and it is very helpful. Look me up, Becky Bowman, or have your friend. I can then add her and/or you to our private forum where these things are discussed. I know how hard it is to go through this, so feel free to have her call me if she needs to vent or even just sit in silence together. My number is 518-860-7384. I prey for both of you every night and hope that some day they will find a cure for this disease, If there is anything I can do for you or Kaitlin to make your journey together eaiser I will be there, even though you and Don are not yet married I still think of Katlin as my great niece and will be there for both of you.
